SCALE is an initial training network and research project aimed at bridging the gap between speech recognition and speech synthesis. The participant institutes include, IDIAP Research Institute in Martigny, Switzerland, Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands, RWTH Aachen, Germany, Saarland University, Germany, University of Edinburgh, UK, University of Sheffield, UK, Toshiba, UK and Nuance Communications. The research themes are: Automatic Speech Recognition, Machine learning, Speech Synthesis, Signal Processing, Human speech recognition.
